Teacher’s Lounge @ Woodland Hills, 1:30 PM

Aria Lambson Conducting

  • District News
    • District-wide student increase of 500, WH down by 10
    • Because the bond did not pass, expect boundary realignment to come next year.
    • Child Nutrition-no more snacks sold in the library
    • District can’t be the middle man for funds donated to PTO, so funds won’t be collected at registration.
  • Budget
    • No Fuss Fundraiser money from last year used for:
      • The new sound system which is almost completed
      • Teacher Grants for equipment or supplies for the classroom.
      • TV for entryway
        • Used for Sponsorships, news, Warrior Wednesdays, etc.
    • We will continue fundraising with a Purpose
      • A big goal is more Chome books for each grade level.
      • 1 set of 30 Chrome books is about $10,000
    • Sponsorships
      • So far we have raised about $8,500 from business sponsorships.
      • Banners will be up on the fence soon
      • If anyone in our school community know a business who would like a sponsorship, please contact the PTO.
    •  Spirit Shirts
      • The public voted for shirt design #1 (with the horse)
      • We hoped to have the shirts ready to deliver at the Bash, but they will be delayed a few days.
      • Teacher and staff will all receive one.
      • A WH swag store will be online soon for families to order other items.
    • Warrior Club
      • Similar to an activity pass at the high schools.
      • You save money if your kids go to all the activities
      • They will receive a free gram (Halloween, Christmas, Valentine’s)
      • Each warrior club member will get a free raffle entry each time we raffle a prize
        • BSU tickets, Mary Poppins tickets, Target gift card, 3 day stay in Island Park.
    • Back to School Bash-Erin Sweetwood
      • Volunteers are needed for small jobs on Monday
        • Popping popcorn, selling concessions, moving tables
        • Older kids can volunteer too
      • Dj, lots of fun games and activities
      • Punch passes and tickets will be available to purchase that night
    • Warrior +1 Event
      • We want to have a fun event that is similar in quality to the girls’ dance
      • Ideas include a dinner and show, a night at The Edge (Hartner), a Ninja/Karate Night, Laser Tag. Other ideas suggested were Inflatables from (Ryan Hatch), An Aerial show
        • There may be some confusion between Warrior Club and Warrior+1 Event, so we will consider renaming the Boys’ Event.
    • Event Chairs Needed
      • We need a chair for our Warrior Appreciation and Warrior+1 Event.
      • We are doing a Family Game Night in November instead of a Mother/Son night.
    • Notes from the Principal
      • We have new playground duties who are young and fun and play with the kids
      • We have a new computer teacher who has great goals for some fun things to do with the kids like coding for 6th grade and PowerPoint for 4th grade.
      • A student council will be made up of one representative from each class of the upper grades, and that representative will rotate through the year. We will ask this student council to help us with Warrior Wednesdays.
    • Other Business
      • We will start a Box Tops drive soon to be turned in by October 18th.
